Poet's Corner: Make Us Be

Poems don't come to me often anymore. They used to pour out of my heart like a drip of water leaking from a faucet. So when they escape from me now, I like to take note. Means my heart is drowning in feelings it needs to release. This small freestyle is a lover's plea.
There's no perfect you
and there's no perfect me
but the balance of us
can make us be.
Beautiful in flight
high as a kite
but we must both
stay in the fight.
Our hearts are trying
while souls are crying
why can't we
keep this from dying?
Man I love poetry. I'm so glad I let this one slip out. In a world that disrespects love, may we all still find a reason to fight for it.
