Poem: 'Lil Bit of Light

The harshness of you

hits and strangles my hope

absorbs everything in the room

Sops all of life up like a towel.

Takes all that makes me smile

cruelty makes a home in me

chokes my heart

is this what I deserve?

You want to steal parts of me

reserved for somewhere else

you're like a jealous lover

angry there's more for me.

It will only take a 'lil bit

of something brighter

to stir me back up

restore my joy.

Light.
