Most Googled: Writing on the Fly

I had never heard of Turks and Caicos until my brother flew a plane there. According to Google Trends, about 20k people have searched a story today that took place there this week. The luxurious location is popping on the radar for a lot of people. But not for vacations. Apparently, a young father, Ryan Watson of Oklahoma, was detained and jailed for ammo found in his luggage. Now, he's facing a 12-year prison sentence. His wife, Valerie Watson, returned home alone to their children Tuesday.

I feel so bad for this family. God be with them! I pray that all charges are dismissed, and he returns to his life in the United States very soon. You wouldn't think that an exotic location would turn into a place of nightmares. The white sand and see-through aquamarine waters should be something dreams are made of.

Unfortunately, it took the Watson's story to pique my interest in this place. I have been curious of its whereabouts and the scenery. Like, what's the big draw? I researched and one picture answered that question for me. Just. Wow.

According to their website, https://turksandcaicostourism.com/quick-facts/, the gorgeous islands are located 575 miles southeast of Miami, FL, south of the Bahamas.

If I were planning a visit, the clear kayak tour would be my first stop. Check it out here:

And riding a jet ski next to a shipwreck? Oh yeah, I'd be all over that. Click here to see it:

As you're looking into Turks and Caicos, be sure to say a prayer for Ryan Watson's expedient return to his family.
