Make it a You Day

Lord knows I hate paying $7 for a cup of coffee but it's going to be that day. Sometimes you just need to "treat yo-self" as they always said on the popular T.V show, Parks and Recreation. A little self love does go a lonnnggggg way.

Right after my divorce my uncle, who had lived through the nightmare himself, told me to do something nice for myself every day. Even if it was just a candy bar, I should buy myself something. I wasn't that good, but I took his advice here and there.

Especially on holidays. Who else was going to do it? So, on my birthday, I take the day off every year. Then, I buy myself that expensive coffee, treat myself to lunch, rent a movie I want to see, go shopping, or whatever. It's my gift to myself. Other than that $1000 lawnmower I bought one year. What a gift that was!

Anywho, I'm going to head out today and get that coffee. Spend time with some special people, and who knows, maybe even throw some window shopping in there...as the French say faire du lèche-vitrines (literally interpreted it means "licking the windows of the shops"). I think I'll skip the licking the windows part, lol, I don't feel like going to jail today. But you get it. I'm worth it and so are you. Let's show ourselves a little love and make ourselves smile :-)
