Writing Tip - Assigning a Topic

Need practice writing? Assign yourself a topic and write to it. When I was freelance writing for American Greetings they would assign us topics each week. We were given prompts such as "love" or "sympathy" and we would choose one and create verses around that subject. For someone with endless ideas, this helped me to streamline and niche. Once my target was in focus, the writing part was easy! Valentine's Day is right around the corner, an easy exercise would be to write verses for a lost love, a current love, or a future love. You will be surprised what will pour out of your heart :-)
